dahmer redux

i was not happy with the way jeff's left eye was looking, so i deleted it and worked on the left ear, nose, right eye and hair highlights and darks.
the second picture is the pencil lines i have put down so far. so many, and i am only about 56% finished.
i really like this piece, if i may say so.
stay tuned.

what the fuck was i thinking?

i don't know what i was thinking. i mean, c'mon, ginger rogers?
well, actually, i know what i was thinking.
i wanted to switch up my style, but seriously, it's just not me.
cannibalistic serial killers, that's where the real money is.
i am having a blast doing this piece.
there will be blood.
yessssss.

closer, ginger, i am getting closer

doing a portrait of ginger rogers, i realize, is kinda gay, but i was just practicing and, well, it got way out of control.
now, to add in a dancing fred astaire.

i miss you marilyn

last night my gay buddy and i were discussing marilyn monroe.
i decided that i miss her.
she was a beautiful, lovely, damaged woman.
marilyn carried herself like she could crush a man with a gaze.
i miss women like this.
all of these anorexic waifs with coke problems just don't butter my bread.
how about a real woman with a pill problem and an outrageous smile.
marilyn was fucking exuberant.
you just don't see that anymore.

killing time in illustrator

so, i have been slowly teaching myself adobe illustrator.
it can be an infuriating program to work in, but little by little, i am getting a grip on it.
here is some of the stuff i have been doing in recent weeks.

i did the original image manipulation in photoshop and all of the coloring in illustrator. this piece is for a cd booklet i am working on for a school project. i am constantly finding cool new aspects in illustrator, like duplicating th icons in the background.

this is another photoshop manipulated image from the same project, colored in illustrator. i always take the illustrator file back into photoshop to clean up the color and add the filters.

now, i am going to teach myself all about the livepaint feature in illustrator. i can scan pencil drawings and paint over them, evidently, in illustrator.
we'll see.
stay tuned, i have an idea i am working on right now that i hope will come to fruition.
this blog will be used for artwork only, being as i have zero time to write.
although i am working on a short story about a hitman hunting down the second coming of christ.
so, that might be up here soon.
