started an ad for a new axe body spray.

sappy

during my break of my night class i walked to 7-11 for some soda and cigarettes, aka, my life blood, and as i passed city hall, i saw this.
i took a step closer and took another picture.

i don't know what it was about this scene, but it felt serene, peaceful, hopeful.
listen, i may be getting sappy in my old age, but something within me clicked in this moment and i felt at complete ease.
now, i have been called "astronomically narcissistic" in the past, and i very well may be such, but i realized something.
i am happy.
i am in a well adjusted, wonderful relationship with someone who i absolutely adore, i am nearly finished with school, and guess what, i am good at what i do.
confidence is a weird thing.
i think i feel at ease because i am comfortable with myself and my path, and honestly, i feel more inspired than ever.
so, if you see me out and about, don't be surprised if i am smiling. i know it may be startling, but just go with it.

Tequila

i recently got a new job at the tapas restaurant distrito, on the corner of 40th and chestnut.
distrito is a new restaurant themed after mexico city, with a hot pink color scheme, a booth constructed out of a volkswagen beetle(the traditional mexican taxi), a bitching jukebox, a claw machine full of luchador masks and action figures, and a wall comprised of 650 luchador wrestling masks.
it is casual fine dining. the owner and executive chef is jose garces, who you may know as the brains behind wildly popular philly restaurants amada and tinto.
so today at my new job we were in our third day of training.
after we sampled more of the dishes on the menu, which included my favorite so far, a kobe beef taco with potato-truffle puree and tomato-horseradish escabeche, my god,so fucking delicious, we sampled top shelf tequilas.
the owner of tequila restaurant in philly, david suro, manufactures his own tequila, siembra azul, a blanco tequila which is so good it almost made me cry.
mr. suro gave a detailed presentation on the history and manufacturing processes of tequila, which actually was quite captivating.
add to this, all the proceeds of his tequila go to the education of immigrant's children, he is quite an amazing dude.
so, distrito opens monday the twentieth of july. come check it out.
i'd make reservations though, this place is gonna be the bee's knees.

i'd really like to get into t shirt design so i was fucking around today and this happened. first, the original design.
then the t shirt.

i will detail the mask, statue, and change the background colors.
not a final layout design either.
i plan on making this looked aged, like it has been hanging on the wall of some mexico city train station or something.
